EVERGREEN’s Metal Bancho is a metal squid jig designed to strongly appeal to squid with a horizontal action while efficiently searching the feeding zone. Combining an original sliding line eye with an vertically asymmetrical body, it produces a sharp horizontal action that moves widely from side to side while suppressing vertical movement, even with light short jerks. The body features an edgy delta head, a compact asymmetrical shape, and a flattened tail, converting the force of each jerk into lateral movement. After the jerk, it also generates a gliding action, drifting side to side on its own and allowing you to thoroughly work the same depth.

As a basic retrieve strategy, quickly search the feeding zone with consecutive short jerks, keeping the intervals between jerks short, then, once you confirm a response, switch to slow-pitch jerks with longer pauses between jerks. After the action, combine tension falls and stop-motion pauses to create time for squid to grab the jig while maintaining a horizontal posture. Use a snap to connect to the line eye. The hooks combine an ultra-lightweight carbon shaft with sharp stainless-steel curved hooks. The lineup ranges from No. 8 at 30 g to No. 30 at 112 g, with the No. 25 weighing 93 g.
