AMS Design Co., Ltd.’s komomo is a lipless minnow developed to combine shallow-water performance with long-casting capability, allowing anglers to target the area just below the surface. The komomo SF-125, the core model in the series, features revised buoyancy settings, the MRD system, and a newly designed head structure, enabling the swimming depth to be adjusted from approximately 5 to 50 cm below the surface by varying the retrieve speed and rod position. Its slim profile and restrained, natural action are suited to dead-slow retrieves in gentle currents, while its posture on splashdown has also been taken into consideration.
Each model is designed with its own size and operating range. The komomo SF-125 measures 125 mm in length, weighs 18 g, and has a range of 5–50 cm, with an action combining rolling and wobbling. The komomo SF-95 Slim is a 95 mm, 5.7 g floating model with a range of 15–30 cm and a wobble-and-roll action, making it suitable for slim baitfish patterns and presentations focused just below the surface. The basic retrieve is a steady, straight retrieve, with the swimming depth adjusted according to retrieve speed, rod position, and current strength. Hook and split-ring specifications vary by model; the official specifications are #4 hooks with #3 rings for the SF-125, and #10 hooks with #2 rings for the SF-95 Slim.
