Yamai Assist Hook Related Products

YAMAI FISHING TACKLE CO., LTD.’s Assist Hook Related Products are a range of lines and components centered around easy-to-use PE assist line and heat-shrink tubing for tying, repairing, and finishing assist hooks. The PE assist line is available in various colors, including pink, white, black, and khaki, as well as different constructions. The pink and white types feature a central core; by removing the core and passing a needle through the line, an eye can be made. The khaki type has an HV core and is softer than the black type while offering more stiffness than the pink type. The black type features a stiff construction with an integrated fluorocarbon core, designed to help prevent tangling with jigs. A blue type with an integrated wire is also available.

The heat-shrink tubing can be used as a protective cover for assist hooks, spreaders, and homemade rigs. It shrinks at a low temperature of approximately 90°C and is easy to work with, even using a household hair dryer. The inner diameter shrinks by approximately 40%, while the length shrinks by approximately 15%, making it suitable for protecting knots and connection points in assist line. Since the handling characteristics of assist line vary depending on the material stiffness, core material, and color, you can choose the type to match the way you tie it to the hook and the desired level of stiffness, and create original assist hooks in combination with heat-shrink tubing.
