Lucky Craft’s FCC Super Sammy is a topwater plug that enlarges the classic Sammy series of pencil baits and features a horizontal floating posture for improved responsiveness. In Just Ace’s special color lineup, this 1 oz-class large pencil bait is designed with a shape that makes it easy to produce a dog-walking action with light rod input. It uses the buoyancy unique to bone material to push water across the surface, while the internal one-knocker sound transmits vibration underwater. The tapered body and weighted tail create a walking action with side-to-side head movement, while the angled face also allows for popping and spitting.
During the retrieve, the basic approach is to make the lure glide across the surface with a dog-walking action by applying short, rhythmic inputs with the rod tip, while varying the strength and incorporating pauses to trigger strikes. In addition to covering a wide area by taking advantage of the water displacement generated by the large body, it can also be worked by pausing after it lands before starting the action again. The 126 is a 126 mm, 28 g floating model equipped with three #3 treble hooks. The lineup also includes the larger 198, which produces a more substantial silhouette and stronger appeal.
