SHIMANO’s NESSA is a lure series designed for surf lure fishing, pursuing long-casting performance, range control, and strong appeal the moment the lure is paused. The minnow-style lineup also includes models with compact bodies that are easy to select according to bait size and fishing pressure. Flash Boost models feature a reflector suspended inside the body by a spring, allowing it to continue swinging and flashing not only during the retrieve but also while the lure is falling or paused. The Beam Drift 97S Flash Boost pursues a stable flight posture and long-casting performance with its fixed center of gravity and compact body designed to reduce air resistance. Weight is concentrated in the lower section of the body for easy bottom contact, while an ultra-small cup on the head catches water to suppress lift, making it easier to detect changes in current and maintain lure control. During the retrieve, it produces a wide wobbling action; on the fall, it generates a shimmy fall as the body sinks with a subtle rolling motion. In addition to a steady retrieve, it is suited to stop-and-go, lift-and-fall, and current-assisted drift techniques. Since buoyancy, size, action, and running depth vary by model, the lineup can be selected for situations ranging from working the surface to searching offshore breaks and areas near the bottom.
