NISSIN’s ARES BLUE PORTER AJ is a rod series designed for ajing, pursuing high sensitivity and excellent handling. The tip section features a high-modulus solid tip that combines the sensitivity needed to detect subtle bites with strength against bending. The butt section uses 4-axis carbon, providing the power to handle unexpected large fish while maintaining the blank characteristics from the sensitive tip through to the butt. Except for part of the butt section, the blanks feature a matte, unsanded finish using the Matte Wrapping construction. Combined with an IPS reel seat and stainless-frame SiC guides, these rods are suited to fishing that requires precise rig control.
The lineup includes the 504S, which prioritizes maneuverability and handling with its short length, along with the 509S, 603S, and 606S. All models handle lure weights of 0.3–5 g and PE line sizes 0.1–0.4, allowing anglers to choose the appropriate model length for everything from close-range fishing with lightweight rigs such as jigheads to casts that take advantage of the rod’s length.
