Ajing — the Japanese sport of targeting horse mackerel (aji) with ultra-light lures from shore — has produced some of the most sensitive and technically refined light tackle rods in the world. The demands of this technique are extreme: detecting the feather-light strike of a small fish on a 0.3g jig head at night, through 0.3–0.6 PE line, requires rod sensitivity at the outer limits of what carbon fiber technology can deliver.
Some brands such as Shimano/Megabass cannot be sold overseas due to contracts.
