Smith Saruna

Smith’s SARUNA is a saltwater minnow designed around casting performance achieved through a moving weight system and the ability to target different depths according to conditions. The long travel distance of the internal weight transfer system uses gravitational inertia during the cast, making it easier to send the lure accurately to the target even in headwinds or crosswinds while maintaining a stable posture. The small dorsal fin on top of the body stabilizes the lure in flight, while also moderately suppressing rolling during fast retrieves to improve tracking stability.

The SARUNA 80F, 95F, 110F, and 125F are floating models featuring a swimming action centered on rolling with an accompanying wobble. They can be selected according to the size of the area and the size of the baitfish, offering a choice of sizes and running depths from bays and estuaries to surf zones. The 147MAX F is a heavy-duty model featuring a double-bottom construction and through-body wire, providing low-center-of-gravity stability and strength while also responding to slow retrieves with a wide wobbling action. The 147F-SR inherits the 147MAX’s strength-oriented design but uses a smaller lip, making it a shallow runner with a running depth of approximately 40–50 cm just below the surface. Its tight wobbling action is combined with rolling, and the running depth can be adjusted by changing the rod-tip position and retrieve speed. The MD110S is a sinking model that combines a high-specific-gravity tungsten weight transfer system with a medium-deep lip. It is designed to resist rising and to maintain its running depth easily with a wobbling-and-rolling action. The MD110S is equipped with three hooks, while the 147F-SR uses two heavy-wire hooks, with each model configured according to its intended fishing conditions.
