Sauribu’s Nyolon~ F-DR is designed to take advantage of the silhouette of a Nyoro-style plug while reaching the bottom with a floating configuration and allowing anglers to continue enticing fish in an upright posture after making bottom contact. Unlike typical Nyoro-style lures, which are often used to target the midwater range and above, this model was developed with winter fishing in mind, when fish move down to the bottom.
This floating lure measures 62 mm and weighs 3.5 g. By positioning the weight beneath the lip, it achieves greater diving ability and is less likely to lie down when it contacts the bottom, making it easier to maintain an upright posture. On a retrieve, it attracts fish with the characteristic action of a Nyoro-style lure, and after reaching deeper water, it can be worked with short, repeated taps along the bottom. Because the retrieve can continue without stopping after the lure reaches the bottom, it enables a style of bottom fishing distinct from that of a conventional crankbait. The basic approach is to first let the lure dive sufficiently on the retrieve, then, after it contacts the bottom, maintain a steady speed and use contact with the bottom to entice fish. When changing the target depth, adjust the retrieve speed and rod angle to find the presentation that maintains the upright posture, making it easier to adapt the lure to different situations. For the hooks, use a standard area crankbait setup as a reference, and adjust after checking the hook size being used and any changes in buoyancy.
