Maruko’s Maruko Spoon 0.7g/0.9g Competition is a micro spoon designed around a stable presentation at dead-slow retrieve speeds. During the retrieve, it combines rolling and wobbling with a large, bold tail-swinging action. Despite its lightweight design, it slowly vibrates as it sinks not only during a steady retrieve but also while falling, allowing you to search the water without interrupting the lure’s action—from the start of the retrieve through the fall after landing.

The 0.7g and 0.9g models are based on the same blank, with different weights achieved by varying the thickness, allowing for fine adjustments in the ultralight range. The basic technique is a steady retrieve at a consistent speed, with the retrieve speed adjusted from dead slow according to the fish’s response. When incorporating a fall, you can let the lure sink to the desired depth after landing before beginning the retrieve, or release tension during the retrieve and then impart action again.
