The Smith D-Contact Type II is a heavy sinking minnow designed specifically for trout fishing. Unlike the standard D-Contact, which is tail-heavy and sinks quickly, the Type II features a center balance that allows it to sway horizontally while falling slowly, controlling the sinking speed. This makes it ideal for triggering bites in situations such as right after the season opens, in deep waters, during the high water temperatures of summer when trout are less aggressive, and in the cautious conditions of autumn yamame. Available in sizes of 50mm/5g and 63mm/7.5g.
