ZIPBAITS’ Pellet Pellet bridges the gap between spoons and area crankbaits, combining a silhouette inspired by the pellets farmed trout are accustomed to eating with a tight swimming action. Its compact 20 mm body has a rounded shape reminiscent of a pellet and produces a crisp, tight wobble on a steady retrieve. With an appearance and action distinct from spoons and conventional crankbaits, it adds a changeup even when trout are reluctant to respond to lures.

The basic retrieve is to let it sink to the desired depth, then alternate between a steady retrieve and pauses. In addition to a continuous retrieve, it can be fished throughout the water column—from the surface to the bottom—by using the fall to trigger bites or letting it sink to the bottom and dragging it along. The Pellet Pellet S is a 20 mm, 2.4 g sinking model, while the SS is a 20 mm, 1.9 g slow-sinking model. Their different sink rates allow you to target different depths and vary the duration of the fall. The standard hook is a size #8 barbless single hook, and the split ring is size #0. Combine retrieving, pausing, sinking, and bottom presentations, and choose between the S and SS according to the conditions.
