Karteras is a Japanese fishing brand developed under HDC OUTDOOR, with product development focused on fishing in Hokkaido — a region famous for salmon, cherry salmon, and area trout. The brand name is derived from Ainu language words: KAR (to create) and TELLAS (to illuminate), together expressing the spirit of "illuminating Japanese craftsmanship." Karteras' defining feature is an innovative low-density resin spoon that enables a novel style of dead-slow, surface and sub-surface trout fishing not achievable with conventional metal spoons.
