Mountain stream fishing (渓流釣り, keiryu-zuri) is one of Japan's oldest and most celebrated angling traditions. The steep, fast-moving mountain streams of Japan's interior — home to yamame, amago, and iwana — demand rods of specific character: light enough to fish all day in rugged terrain, sensitive enough to detect strikes in turbulent current, and strong enough to turn fish away from log jams and undercut banks.
Some brands such as Shimano/Megabass cannot be sold overseas due to contracts.
