Mukai Air Stick

Mukai Fishing’s AIR-STICK is a rod series in which each model is designed for a specific role based on the characteristics and techniques used with area trout lures. The AIR-STICK AS-1622MUL “Reverbrater Pogo” is designed with an emphasis on handling bottom lures such as the Pogo, as well as minnows. It combines powerful butt strength with a sensitive tip that helps keep the hook in the fish’s mouth. Featuring a high-sensitivity tubular tip, it is a 6.2-foot, two-piece rod rated for lures from 1.0 to 5.0 g and lines up to 6 lb.

Within the AIR-STICK PLUS series, the ASP-1612XUL “Under-0” features a regular taper suited to micro spoons weighing 1 g or less and slow cranking, while the ASP-1602UL “Legare” is designed to handle a wide range of cranks and spoons. The ASP-1602UL-S “Loopus” features a solid tip tuned to absorb small bites rather than deflect them, while the ASP-1604UL offers portability with its four-piece construction and is designed for spoons, cranks, and bottom fishing. Since the tip—tubular or solid—taper, number of sections, and intended lure techniques vary by model, anglers can choose according to their preferred style, from retrieve-based fishing to working bottom lures and minnows.
