WaterLand’s Shinpen Sonic is a sinking pencil designed without a lip, based on the swimming action of the Jerk Sonic 100. The 100 mm, 17.5 g body features a shape designed to reduce air resistance by eliminating the lip, with an emphasis on casting distance. As a sinking lure, it shows a stable action with a pronounced side-to-side tail swing once the retrieve begins, producing a consistent swimming action on a steady retrieve.

The key feature of this lure is its shimmying fall when the retrieve is paused. It sinks while maintaining a horizontal posture and wobbling from side to side, allowing anglers to combine steady retrieves with pauses after letting the lure sink to a desired depth. Twitches add variation through rod movement, enabling anglers to alternate between a steady retrieve and an action-oriented presentation. The Sinking Pencil 100S offers a fall and handling characteristics distinct from lipped minnows, making it suitable for saltwater lure fishing focused on the surface to mid-water ranges.
