Buddy Works Henchman

Buddy Works’ Henchman is a metal jig developed as a “retrieve jig,” designed to produce a tight-pitch action on the retrieve. It features an asymmetrical body shape from top to bottom, with added thickness toward the tail while keeping the body height slim to reduce its overall volume despite its compact length. Its rear-weighted design provides casting distance, while the wide front section catches water to generate action and the rounded tail section allows water to flow away. The design helps suppress the tail wagging and increased retrieve resistance commonly associated with rear-weighted jigs, allowing it to swim with a tight pitch and resist blowing out even on a fast retrieve.

The basic technique is a steady retrieve, allowing you to search at a consistent speed while feeling a comfortable amount of resistance. When targeting situations involving small baitfish, its bite-sized profile makes it easy to use as a relatively heavy jig that maintains its action. The 32 g model measures 53 mm in length, while the 42 g model measures 59 mm, allowing you to choose according to the target depth, current conditions, and casting distance required.
