Bozles Xavier

BOZLES’ Xavier is an offshore plug designed with a cup-shaped front reminiscent of a popper, combined with a floating pencil to create a complex action and bubbles during darting. The 170F measures 170 mm in length and weighs 48 g, and features a distinctive pentagonal cup at the nose. When darted with rod action, the body traces an S-shaped path while generating clusters of bubbles on the surface, producing water displacement and visual appeal unlike that of a conventional diving pencil. As a floating model, it can also be allowed to rise to the surface and paused when the retrieve is stopped.

The body is built with a 1.2 mm through-wire, and the recommended hooks are Owner ST-66 size 2/0, Decoy YS-22 sizes 2/0–3/0, and D-CLAW Ladder Hook size 6/0. Since the floating posture and action vary depending on hook weight and setup, the basic approach is to adjust the rig while checking the specifications of the hooks being used. The 170F is designed for working the surface by taking advantage of the S-shaped darting action and bubble production created by its pentagonal cup.
