Issei Umitaro Metal Jig

issei’s Umitaro Neko Metal is a metal jig designed with a focus on its underwater posture during the fall, based on the fact that bites on metal jigs are likely to occur while falling. Its reversible design allows the body to be mounted upside down, enabling you to change its action characteristics according to the setup.

With the top-heavy setup, it falls slowly while continuously flashing and rolling during the fall. When jigged upward, it makes wide darts and can sometimes reverse direction by more than 180 degrees. With the bottom-heavy setup, it falls quickly with an irregular flashing and rolling action, and is suited to being worked with ultra-short-pitch jerks during the lift. It is designed to accommodate a variety of techniques and retrieve speeds, including one-pitch jerks, lift-and-fall, and fast retrieves.

Available in sizes from 20g to 60g, the 30g model is compatible with the Umitaro Kuwarel Assist #3. It comes standard with hooks on the front and rear, including a medium-shank hook with long, glow-in-the-dark tinsel. In addition to presentations centered on the fall, it is also suited to situations where you want to vary the action and sinking characteristics by changing the top and bottom orientation of the body.
