Magbite Scoop Jig

MAGBITE’s Scoop Jig is a metal jig designed with an asymmetrical shape that produces different actions during the fall, making it easy to vary the presentation. It features a distinctive cup-shaped side and a flat side. When the cup-shaped side faces downward, it falls with a fluttering action, while the flat side facing downward produces a slipping, gliding action through the water. Because the two fall actions appear randomly, it can add variation even when fish are less responsive to a consistent movement. It is also designed to resist making large lateral jumps when jigged, providing ease of use suited to the feeding characteristics of cutlassfish.

In use, the jig can be worked with standard jerks while also taking the fall posture and orientation of each side into consideration. According to the manufacturer’s examples, positioning the eye upward produces a horizontal, rolling fall, while positioning the eye downward creates a sliding fall. This model is designed to be used by combining upward jerks and falls, changing the fall posture according to the fish’s response. It is available in multiple weights, including 80 g, allowing anglers to select the appropriate weight for the fishing depth and current when targeting cutlassfish by jigging from a boat.
