BlueBlue’s GACHIPOP TULIPA is a slim, vertical-floating popper designed to present a slender silhouette like a diving pencil beneath the surface, despite being a popper. Intended for large fish such as tuna, giant trevally, and other pelagic species, it is designed to achieve long casting distance, smooth handling with minimal action errors, and a light retrieve feel.
It features a transparent cup and a unique shape with a pronounced constriction behind the cup. When floating on the surface, the thick cup section rises above the water, creating a subdued underwater silhouette with less of the distinctive presence typical of a popper. Despite its small diameter, the deep cup produces a large splash and popping sound, while the constricted section traps air and helps create an action that trails bubbles. The constriction behind the cup also grips the water easily, helping prevent action errors in which the lure slides across the surface when affected by crosswinds. In addition, the built-in unbalanced weight ball sways with the waves, producing irregular wobbling and a rattle sound.
The basic retrieve is a one-pitch jerk, attracting fish with splashes and popping sounds on the surface. The Tulipa 190 measures 190 mm in body length, 215 mm overall, and weighs 60 g.
