YAMAGA Blanks’ BlueCurrent III series is designed around the fundamental performance of a light-game rod—lightweight, long-casting, and powerful. It features a wider release point for easier casting, a seamless bend that minimizes loss of tension, and improved responsiveness for handling the rod as an extension of the angler’s hand. With its design, materials, and concept completely renewed, the series provides the fundamental power needed to accommodate a wide range of specialized fishing techniques.

The 53/B is the baitcasting model in the series, designed with an emphasis on sensitivity during retrieves and falls. Its short length makes it easy to manipulate jig heads with a lively feel, making it suitable for working through close-range depths and probing around the bottom when ajing. The lure rating is set for 0.5–4.5 g jig heads, and it is compatible with PE 0.3–0.5, as well as 3–5 lb nylon or fluorocarbon line. While taking advantage of the control offered by baitcasting tackle, it is designed to make it easier to detect changes during a jig head’s fall or retrieve. The series includes both spinning and baitcasting models, with the 53/B positioned as the model suited to light jig head fishing with a baitcasting reel.
