Alternative Blast is a minnow designed for shore fishing in harbor areas, with a focus on creating situations in which seabass will strike the lure rather than simply reproducing the appearance of baitfish. Designed by the team of Yuki Ohno and Masanori Muraoka, it features a 78 mm, 10 g body that delivers long-casting performance and precise controllability for reaching targeted spots, even among minnows of the same size.
Its hypersinking design makes it easy to search deeper ranges that are difficult to reach with standard minnows, such as areas below high banks and along seawalls. During the retrieve, it grabs the water firmly and produces a stable action, while rod work elicits quick darts and responds well to twitches. In addition to simply retrieving it through a consistent depth, it can be allowed to sink to the target range and then worked with a combination of slow retrieves, jerks, and twitches. It is designed to perform in situations requiring a lure to pass through deeper strike zones along harbor seawalls, in canals, and in urban rivers. The standard hooks are STBL41-TN.
