Whiplash Factory Grindin' Wire

Whiplash Factory’s Grindin’Wire-13 SW is an impact-focused minnow-shaped pencil bait, weight-tuned for use in saltwater environments. Based on the Grindin’Wire-13, it has been increased in weight by approximately 2g and features sea-oriented translucent-style colors. Its primary action is a sliding action with the body leaning over on the surface, while rod work can produce dives accompanied by splashes and sound. After a dive, turning the reel handle two to three times transitions the lure into an irregular swimming action.

The 130mm body, with a naked weight of approximately 30g, is made from 1.5mm-thick ABS and features a through-wire construction using 1.3mm wire. Its large body provides a strong presence, while retaining the series’ characteristic cutting, responsive feel as it engages with the water. It can be worked with continuous slides and dives created through rod work, combined with changes produced by retrieving after a dive, allowing you to vary the rhythm of the presentation on the surface.

This model is intentionally supplied without hooks or split rings, allowing anglers to select them according to the target species and fishing conditions. The recommended setup is split rings #4–5 with #1 hooks. When prioritizing strength while maintaining buoyancy, a setup using single hooks is also suggested.
