Shimano Nessa

The SHIMANO NESSA NINA 120S is a sinking, lipless minnow developed to combine long-casting performance with easy control for efficiently covering shallow surf areas. It features the “Jet Boost” center-of-gravity transfer system optimized for surf minnows. By lowering the center of gravity, expanding the weight’s range of movement, and optimizing the weight shape, it pursues a stable flight姿勢 and quick swimming action after splashdown. The body is based on the design of the Hirame Minnow III, refined by taking advantage of its aerodynamic characteristics and weight-placement balance.

The lipless design helps prevent excessive contact with the bottom even in shallow areas, making it easy to trace near the bottom while feeling changes in the terrain. In surf around 2 meters deep, it maintains a stable swimming姿勢 while providing a moderate sense of bottom contact. In gently sloping areas, it can also be retrieved close to the bottom in an almost horizontal姿勢. Its action is a wobble-and-roll combining water displacement and rolling, allowing it to swim naturally on a steady retrieve. It also supports stop-and-go retrieves and drift presentations using the current, generating action even with minimal line tension. Measuring 120 mm and weighing 24 g, it uses three hooks: #5 on the front and middle positions and #4 on the tail. Designed for use as part of a surf lure rotation targeting species such as flounder, flathead, sea bass, and pelagic fish, with a primary focus on flounder.
