Shimano Grappler Type J Full Bend

Shimano’s GRAPPLER TYPE J FULLBEND is designed to make jigging more accessible to a wide range of anglers who want to enjoy bending the rod and battling fish. Its flexible action slightly reduces rebound while maintaining jig control, supporting everything from continuous one-pitch jerks to presentations that move the jig slowly and let it drift. The tenacious bend follows sudden movements by the fish and the up-and-down motion of the boat, providing greater stability during the fight.

The blank features a hybrid construction with a high-strength carbon solid core made from Toughtech Infinity, overwrapped with lightweight carbon sheets. It pursues the ideal balance of full-solid-style flex, the responsiveness needed to make the jig jump, strength, and light weight. The full-holding reel seat made from CI4+ carbon-reinforced material accommodates a variety of grips, including a conventional grip, palm support, and two- to four-finger grips. The flat rear grip stabilizes elbow-braced jerks while reducing fatigue and stress during operation.

The lineup ranges from B60-1 to B60-5. The B60-2 handles everything from light inshore targets to pelagic species. The B60-3 is a versatile model primarily designed for inshore pelagic fish, while the B60-4 is a powerful model intended for large pelagic species, yellowfin tuna, and albacore tuna. All models feature a two-piece grip-joint construction, with maximum jig weights ranging from 200 to 400 g depending on the model.
