SHIMANO’s OCEA FULLTHROTTLE 190F Jet Boost (OCEA FULLTHROTTLE 190F JB) is a floating pencil bait developed for “nonstop jerking”—adding jerks and twitches without stopping the retrieve. Its downsized 190 mm body is designed with an emphasis on ease of control, responding quickly to rod movements when you want the lure to dive or rise. Unlike skipping, which makes the lure glide across the surface, this model is designed to swim beneath the surface or break through onto the surface while the retrieve continues. Its size is easy to match with small baitfish, making it a versatile option for situations where the 240F is too large.

It features Jet Boost, which supports the moving center-of-gravity weight with a through shaft and spring, stabilizing the lure’s flight posture during casting while also enabling it to start swimming quickly after landing. Without hooks, it floats horizontally, but its buoyancy is set relatively low, so it may sink depending on the weight of the hooks. Use heavy-wire #3/0 treble hooks or single hooks weighing approximately 5–7 g each, and check the resulting floating posture and action according to the hooks fitted. Continue the retrieve while adding short-pitch jerks or twitches, and raise the rod tip as needed to adjust the swimming depth or bring the lure up to the surface.
