Shimano OCEA Mamma Sardine

Shimano’s OCEA MANMA SARDINE is a sinking pencil designed with a 90 mm silhouette resembling a sardine, for situations where fish are feeding on small baitfish measuring 100 mm or less. Its size is easy to match with small baitfish, and its design is intended to trigger strikes even while falling, making it effective when fish are feeding on the surface but are not fully rising to it.

The 90S is a sinking model measuring 90 mm in length and weighing 42 g. It features Shimano’s original Scale Boost technology, which reproduces the scale pattern of baitfish. Its composite hologram creates complex reflections resembling the scales of a real baitfish. The basic technique is to cast around a bait ball and allow the lure to sink; if there is no response, slowly retrieve it with a steady winding action to bring it upward, then allow it to fall again. Strikes can be expected not only while the lure is falling but also during the retrieve. The 90S is suited to situations where a slower sinking speed is preferred, while the 90HS is used when a faster sink rate or longer casting distance is desired. The 90S is equipped with original Assist Hook #5/0.
