Shimano’s GAME TYPE SLOW J is a baitcasting jigging rod designed to enhance the jerk control required for slow-style jigging, allowing anglers to manipulate the jig exactly as intended. Its balanced design enables the fulcrum of the bend to shift smoothly toward the angler’s hands, reducing perceived load and fatigue while accommodating slow retrieves, fast retrieves, and combination jerks that vary the jig’s speed.

The high-resilience, slim blank is designed to bend smoothly throughout its length before recovering, delivering slow-style rod work focused on the fall as well as actions that make the jig come alive. Spiral X Core suppresses twisting and power loss, while the grip-joint two-piece construction pursues a natural bend comparable to that of a one-piece rod. The Full Holding Seat accommodates various handling styles, including gripping, resting the rod in the palm, and wrapping the hand around it, while also adapting to underarm and elbow-braced jerking styles. It is also equipped with CI4+ components and LKW guides featuring SiC inserts. The B66-2 has a total length of 1.98 m, a maximum compatible jig weight of 200 g, a maximum compatible PE line size of No. 2, and a maximum drag rating of 4 kg.
