Tenryu Bay Blaze

TENRYU’s BAY BLAZE is a casting rod series designed for technical, pinpoint fishing and long-casting techniques that cover a wide area, from bays and reefs to areas around mangroves. Centered on sea bass, the lineup is intended for Spanish mackerel, black sea bream, and small pelagic fish, while also offering models that are easy to handle for light boat fishing.

The blanks use an unsanded finish with minimal paint to reduce weight, while the butt sections incorporate C・N・T carbon nanotube material. They feature a design with plenty of flex, and are equipped with K Guides featuring stainless steel frames and SiC rings. Carbon pipes with Nishijin-ori styling are used in the foregrips and reel seat sections. The BBZ642S-LML is designed for pinpoint fishing, such as targeting gaps in bay areas, and is well suited to plugs weighing approximately 10–15 g, minnows measuring 7–10 cm, and vibration lures up to 15 g. The BBZ702S-M is designed for covering areas such as bridge pilings, tetrapod zones, and reef edges with long casts, and handles minnows measuring 10–14 cm and vibration lures of around 25 g. The BBZ672S-M and BBZ6112S-MH are also suitable for blade jigging; the former is optimized for handling blade-style jigs weighing 20–45 g, while the latter offers the power to handle blade-style jigs weighing 30–60 g. The series also accommodates underhand casting from boats with a low waterline, while the rear grips are easy to tuck under the arm, helping anglers maintain control of the rod during fast retrieves.
