Abu Garcia Oceanfield Boat Seabass

Abu Garcia’s OCEANFIELD BoatSeabass is a spinning rod for boat-based seabass fishing, designed with a focus on durability and trouble-free performance on the water. Its regular taper allows the entire blank to flex smoothly and follow seabass as they suddenly dive beneath the boat, helping reduce the chance of fish coming unhooked during the fight.

The rod is equipped with Fuji Kogyo New Concept Guides, featuring larger guide diameters to accommodate thicker leaders. The blank incorporates Abu Garcia’s proprietary X Carbon Tape Wrapping, reinforced with carbon tape applied from 45- and 135-degree directions to reduce twisting and enhance torque. It is also designed to help minimize common on-board stresses such as line tangles and rod damage.

The lineup includes the 6-foot 6-inch OFBS-662M and the 7-foot OFBS-702M. Both models feature medium power, a regular taper, and a two-piece construction, and are suitable for lure weights from 7 to 35 g and PE line up to size 2. They can also be used for offshore casting and offer the power required for casting games targeting bonito, mahi-mahi, and other species, with seabass as the primary target.
