Jado Atoll Susan

Ja-do’s Atoll Susan is a minnow designed to entice sea bass to strike by sending the lure to a specific position in the current with its compact body and subtle action, as indicated by its name, “Yaruki Sparkling Thunder Rolling Special.” Despite measuring 75 mm and weighing 7 g, it is easy to cast for a minnow in this class and is suited to targeting depths of around 50 cm.

Its primary action is a high-pitch rolling action with minimal wobble. From ultra-fast retrieves to dead-slow retrieves, it is resistant to major changes in running depth and can be worked steadily with a straight retrieve. Along walls and structure, it can also be used with subtle rod twitches to trigger strikes. In rivers with a strong current, one basic presentation is a tension drift, allowing the lure to ride the current after casting at an angle down and across the flow. Rather than pulling it too quickly toward you on the retrieve, focus on a path that lets it drift downstream while slowly approaching the target, making it easier to pass through precisely targeted areas such as light-and-dark edges, bridge pilings, and drop-offs. This compact minnow prioritizes triggering bites and can be used with a standard straight retrieve or with twitches and drifts, depending on the conditions.
