YAMASHITA’s EGINO Mogumogu Search is an egi developed around the concept of attracting squid with the lure’s movement and sound, then triggering a bite with bait attached to its back. It is designed to be easy to use even for anglers who find egi operation difficult. The “Esatto System” allows bait such as silver-stripe round herring to be placed on the back and secured by hooking the Esatto Band onto the projections on the sides of the body. Attaching bait helps prevent squid from letting go after biting, and the lure is designed to make it easier to hook the squid on the next retrieve action.

To use it, cast offshore with a light casting rod or similar, let the lure sink to the bottom, and then take up the slack line. After waiting approximately 5–10 seconds, repeatedly lift the rod once and search the area all the way back to your feet. Because bites are transmitted as added weight, do not rush after hooking a squid; reel it in at a steady speed. The 3.2-size model weighs 20 g, and its sink rate with silver-stripe round herring attached is approximately 2.8 seconds per meter. It is available in colors including 490 Glow, Keimura, and a luminous body, allowing you to choose according to daytime or nighttime conditions and water color.
