Marukyu Nories Kijihata Grab

Marukyu’s ECOGEAR KIJIHATA GRUB is a soft lure designed to target grouper species from the shore by combining the features of a hog-style lure and a grub. Its bulky body is designed to resist losing balance even with a 30 g heavy Texas rig, while helping to reduce lift during the retrieve. The distinctive thick tail generates powerful vibration with even subtle movements, making it suitable for everything from swimming presentations to bottom-bumping.

The joint between the body and tail uses a sharply narrowed offset design, allowing the tail to fold during the cast to reduce air resistance. This helps stabilize the lure’s flight and improve casting distance. In addition, the tail’s movement is less likely to be transmitted to the body, reducing water resistance and spinning during the fall and making it easier to feel the bottom. When imitating small baitfish or squid, it can be swum on a jighead rig; when targeting crustaceans, it can be worked with bottom-bumping techniques on a Texas rig, allowing the presentation to be adjusted to the available forage and conditions. It is available in 3-inch, 4-inch, and 4.5-inch sizes, with a #1/0 offset hook recommended for the 4-inch model.
