Decoy (katsuichi) Fiber Light Assist

KATSUICHI’s DECOY Fiber Light Assist is an assist hook based on the Light Assist design, enhanced with flash fibers to create a stronger baitfish presence and improve ease of inhalation. Depending on the conditions, the flash fibers create a silhouette resembling small fry or krill, serving as an attractant for the jig. When a fish inhales the hook, the fibers provide resistance that helps guide it into the fish’s mouth, supporting solid hooksets. This model is designed not merely for added decoration, but with practical performance in light-tackle jigging in mind.

The hook itself features the NS BLACK finish inherited from the Light Assist design. Its outward-facing setup, which prioritizes hook penetration, combined with a staggered assist system, is configured to enable smooth hooksets even with light tackle. A solid oval ring without a welded joint connects the split ring and assist line, reducing slack in the assist line and stabilizing the hook’s movement. Since it comes with a split ring, it can be connected directly to a jig’s eye, and is available in sizes #3, #2, #1, #1/0, and #2/0 to match the jig size and target conditions.
