Tiemco Ocean Dominator

TIEMCO’s Ocean Dominator is a center-balanced metal jig developed for deep-water cutlassfish jigging from autumn through winter, primarily in Tokyo Bay. Its compact body relative to its weight helps maintain a good feel for the jig even in deep water with strong currents. The 150 g model is designed for deep-water use, following the 60 g and 80 g models.

With its center of gravity positioned near the middle of the body, the jig is designed to maintain a fast fall speed while allowing the angler to adjust its posture with thumbing during the fall. The fall can be controlled according to how the line pays out and how the current affects the jig on its way to the bottom, and it also supports presentations during the fall. For the retrieve, short jerks are used as the basic technique, moving the jig finely around the center of the body and attracting fish with flashes. This design is suited to situations where you want to quickly search the water column in a strong current or steadily send the jig down into deep water.

When fishing, drop the jig to the depth directed by the captain, then combine short jerks with controlled falls while adjusting its falling posture with thumbing. The center-balanced design makes it easy to take advantage of the jig’s response during the fall, so pay attention not only while retrieving but also to changes that occur during the fall. Hooks are not included and must be prepared separately; set up the rig according to the tackle being used, the target species, and the conditions of the fishing area.
