DAIWA’s MORETHAN BURST UPPER is a pencil bait developed under the supervision of Masaya Onuma to offer a unique retrieve-based approach for pressured sea bass. Its primary techniques are an ultra-slow steady retrieve and stop-and-go, creating a wake on the surface simply by casting and reeling. While drawing in fish that are focused on the surface, it makes it easy to create presentations that differ from those of conventional topwater plugs.

All sizes feature a weight-transfer system designed to provide long casting distance while maintaining a horizontal posture. The lure supports wake, splash and sound, wakebait, and diving and panic actions, allowing its surface movement to be changed through retrieve speed and rod manipulation. Rattling colors contain multiple glass rattles that produce sound when the lure is paused or restarted. The 80F measures 80 mm and weighs 10.4 g, with an effective range on the surface, #6 treble hooks, and #2 split rings as standard. The 110F, 140F, and 180F are designed to target the surface to just below the surface, with weight, standard hook size, and ring size varying by model.
