Daiwa Morethan Cross Wake

DAIWA’s MORETHAN CROSSWAKE R is a floating minnow designed to imitate the snake-like wake created by young mullet just beneath the surface, appealing to seabass feeding on baitfish near the surface. The 90F-SSR and 111F-SSR can be retrieved at depths of up to approximately 30 cm below the surface, while the 125F-SSR is designed for depths of up to approximately 50 cm below the surface.

The lure features the “MAGLOCK Ver.S + R” system. By extending the movable range of the weight oscillation system toward the rear, it improves casting distance and allows the action to start more quickly. The kickback spring in the weight-transfer mechanism has been shortened to half its original length, keeping the position where the weight is pushed back during the latter part of the cast near the center of the body and reducing deceleration. In addition, an enlarged rattle chamber and large rattle ball produce a deep, low-pitched brass sound. Buoyancy has also been revised, making it easier to keep the lure suspended just beneath the surface during an ultra-dead-slow retrieve and helping it respond to weak strikes.

The basic presentation is a combination of drift and medium-speed retrieve, with the depth adjusted by varying the rod position and retrieve speed. With a dead-slow retrieve, the lure can be worked just beneath the surface while maintaining its rattle sound and “Snake Roll surface wake.” The 90F-SSR measures 90 mm, weighs 13.7 g, and is equipped with No. 6 treble hooks as standard. The 111F-SSR measures 111 mm, weighs 17.8 g, and is equipped with No. 4 treble hooks as standard. Both models feature a floating design.
