SMITH’s OCEAN PERFORMER KURURINPA is a 3.4-inch soft lure designed to entice rockfish with the powerful water displacement generated by its ringed ribs and the vibrations produced by its curly tail. Based on the water displacement created by its ring-shaped rib structure, every detail has been refined to improve ease of use. The curly tail, featuring a rounded tip, reliably catches water and generates a fluttering action. To balance action response and vibration, the tail thickness is set at 1.5 mm. It is easy to swim even with a lightweight sinker in the 1/8 oz class, and supports a range of techniques, including retrieve-based swimming, bottom lift-and-fall, and shaking.
A generous blend of crustacean powder is incorporated into the material, designed to stimulate rockfish through taste and scent. It can be used primarily with Texas rigs and jighead rigs, as well as with drop-shot, jika, and Carolina rigs. The recommended offset hook size is #1 to #2/0, with #1/0 being the standard choice. From light tackle targeting groupers, rockfish, and greenlings to rockfish fishing from shore or a boat, this model can be adapted to different rigs and presentation techniques.
