Sasame Shout! Jaco Hook

SASAME’s Jaco Hook is an assist hook for inshore fishing that combines a fine-wire hook designed with an emphasis on hooking performance with mackerel skin and rainbow threads, adding visual appeal for fish that are less responsive to a jig alone. The combination of the lightweight hook and materials is designed to be easily inhaled into a fish’s mouth, inducing bites and achieving hooksets in a way that differs from standard assist hooks. The hook uses a Peak Hook, while the assist line is made of PE line with strength matched to each size. The mackerel skin and rainbow threads shimmer underwater, adding a baitfish-like presence as the jig falls or is retrieved.

To set it up, pass the loop in the assist line through the jig’s eye, then pass the hook through the loop and pull it through. During installation, pull the hook through while turning the mackerel skin inside out, then return the skin and threads to their original position. The JH-02 is available in sizes 3S, SS, S, M, L, and LL, with the 3S and SS sizes also suitable for casting jigs. The PE line is rated at 50 lb for 3S and SS, 80 lb for S, 100 lb for M, 120 lb for L, and 150 lb for LL, allowing you to select the appropriate size for the jig and fishing method being used.
