Cultiva STX-60

Cultiva’s STX-60 (Stinger Triple Extra) is a treble hook designed for high-load battles with large fish, built around a curved point that sets securely and a robust size 6 power class. It features high-strength tough wire, with its strength enhanced through heavy flattening. The shank width has been slimmed down to provide greater clearance during hooksets, resulting in a shape that is more likely to penetrate wider and deeper.

The hook point features a precisely tuned curve designed to deliver hook-ups closer to those of a straight point while retaining the holding power of a conventional curved point. The power point has a shorter taper and increased thickness, creating a structure that withstands high loads. At the same time, the barb has been made smaller than before and positioned closer to the bend to reduce resistance during penetration. Available in sizes from 2/0 to 5/0 for replacing plug hooks. As a general guide, size 2/0 is suitable for plugs around 160 mm, 3/0 for around 190 mm, 4/0 for around 220 mm, and 5/0 for around 240 mm. Replacing ST hooks with STX hooks is said to leave lure action unchanged, making them suitable for reassessing the hook setup on existing plugs.
