OWNER’s JIGGER LIGHT SABER TRIGGER is a jigging assist hook designed to reliably hook bite-down strikes while reducing assist-line breakage caused by fish teeth. In addition to its long shank, it features a point with the longest long taper in the series, resulting in a shape designed for sharp-toothed fish such as Spanish mackerel and cutlassfish.
The hook has a deep throat to handle situations when tension is released and foul-hooking. Its combination of a micro barb and angular profile helps reduce hook-outs. Available in sizes 2/0 and 3/0 through 4/0 and 5/0, the 4/0 and 5/0 models feature a profile better suited to unexpected large fish such as yellowtail. For Spanish mackerel jigging, the long shank helps keep the assist line away from the fish’s teeth, allowing it to be paired with an assist line featuring a fluorocarbon core. This design helps reduce line breakage caused by teeth while allowing the hook to function effectively against bites during the fall and fish biting the jig.
