Gamakatsu Fighting Leader

Gamakatsu’s FIGHTING LEADER is a fluorocarbon leader designed to help prevent line breakage and jig loss when targeting fish with sharp teeth. It features a sleeve-based connection system, designed to reduce underwater resistance while balancing leader break prevention with a natural presentation that makes it easier for fish to bite the lure. In addition to targeting hairtail and Spanish mackerel, it can also be used for bluefish in areas where Spanish mackerel and hairtail are present.

The lineup includes two types: the 30 cm Short and the 45 cm Long. The Short is set to a length that also accommodates diagonal retrieves with spinning tackle, while the Long is designed for easier use in a wider range of situations. Both are available in S (No. 14), M (No. 22), and L (No. 30). When using the leader, select the length according to factors such as the range in which it may contact the target fish’s teeth or body, lure control method, and ease of handling when casting, then connect it to the main leader using the sleeve. Suitable for lure fishing from both shore and offshore locations where leader damage from sharp teeth is anticipated.
