OWNER’s STT-33 Dragon Tachi 3 is a power model designed for deep-water areas targeting dragon-class cutlassfish, featuring a slightly thicker wire than conventional cutlassfish hook series. The thicker wire provides increased strength, making it suitable for deep-water fishing in winter and situations where you need to capitalize on short bites. Featuring three hooks in a treble configuration, it is used as a lure hook, such as when rigged on jigs for cutlassfish.
Its fluorocarbon coating uses “SW Magic Fluorine,” which is claimed to provide three times the rust resistance of conventional coatings based on saltwater testing. To compensate for the fluorocarbon coating’s slipperiness, the hooks feature an angular “anti-fluorine shape” designed to improve holding power after the hook sets. The design pursues a shape that helps prevent the hook from coming free even when the load changes, such as during a sudden upward strike or when lifting the fish out of the water.
