Owner Stinger Treble Extra

OWNER’s STX-68 Stinger Treble Extra (STX-68 TREBLE) is a high-strength treble hook made with Tough Wire, developed for an era in which the widespread use of PE line has increased the instantaneous load placed on hooks. Designed around the concept that the hook is the point of contact with the fish, it incorporates the strength design of the STX series while maintaining the same wire diameter and weight as the previous ST-66. As a replacement hook for large plugs, it is also suited to setups that prioritize a weight configuration designed to minimize changes to the lure’s action.

Available in sizes from 2/0 to 7/0, the standard weight is set according to size. Replacing an STX with an STX-68 is said not to change the lure’s action when switching from an ST-66 with the same wire diameter and weight, making it easy to use for replacing hooks on existing large plugs and topwater lures. Taking advantage of the strength provided by its heavy-gauge Tough Wire, it is suited to hook setups intended for high-load situations with PE line, including targeting Japanese seabass (hirāsuzuki), shore-based bluefish, and casting games using large plugs.
