Studio Composite Sprit Ring

STUDIO COMPOSITE’s OVAL WIRE SPLIT RING is an oval-shaped split ring developed for use with twin hooks. Unlike conventional round split rings, its design distributes the force that tries to open the wire from both sides, helping to reduce deformation and breakage during installation. Made from high-strength EX-SUS stainless steel wire, it provides reliable strength while incorporating longer straight sections along the sides, making the wire easier to grip and facilitating installation with pliers.

The oval shape gives the ring greater height than a round ring, increasing the distance between the lure and hook. This shifts the hook’s center of gravity toward the underwater side, helping stabilize the lure’s swimming posture. Because the hook is less likely to interfere with the body, the design is intended to help guide the hook point deeper into the fish’s mouth when it bites. Standard sizes range from #3 to #7, allowing selection according to the size of minnows, plugs, big baits, and other lures. The Long 12 mm and 15 mm models prioritize wire strength and feature an opening for ring installation on the side of the ring. Attach the ring between the lure’s eye and the hook connection point, and select the size according to the hook type, lure size, and the desired range of movement.
