Bottomup Gimmy

Bottomup’s Gimmy is a bluegill-shaped worm with a laterally compressed body that combines delicate micro-vibrations with strong water displacement. Side ribs are positioned along the body at intervals and in shapes designed to firmly catch water. During the fall, they tremble finely like fins, while a stronger retrieve causes the ribs to momentarily collapse and change shape, allowing the lure to attract fish while minimizing forward movement. The laterally compressed body, featuring slits along the dorsal and ventral sides, undulates softly like pork and is designed to flex naturally when a fish bites. The slitted tail catches water and vibrates, generating vibration as it flutters like a caudal fin. With rod work, it produces an up-and-down action, while its thick, fan-shaped surface strikes the water and bottom to create additional attraction.

The guard structure allows the hook point to be embedded in the body, while the ribs surrounding the hook help reduce snagging around cover and on the bottom. The 2.4-inch model also features an area on the top of the head where the hook point can be embedded, making it suitable for nose-hooking with a trout-style hook. Even when used without a guard, the design helps keep the hook and worm aligned in a straight line for more consistent action. Available sizes are 2.4, 3.5, and 4.5 inches. The 2.4-inch model uses a softer, lower-salt-content material than the 3.5-inch model, making it easier to maintain a horizontal posture for drop-shot and finesse-jig trailer applications. It is also suitable for neko rigs, free rigs, and hover strolling. The 3.5- and 4.5-inch models use a medium-specific-gravity material that balances posture and water displacement, allowing them to be used for drop-shot, neko rig, free rig, and jig trailer applications.
