Sumlures Slalomer

Sumlures’ Slalomer 85 is a medium-sized lipless lure designed for efficiently searching large areas, offering excellent castability and a wide slaloming action. Measuring 85 mm and weighing approximately 17 g, it features a sinking design and a non-rattle construction. Its weight makes it easy to cast even into headwinds or crosswinds, while its greater pull resistance compared with the Slalomer 70 makes it easier to track the lure’s position during the retrieve in waves or windy conditions.

The basic technique is to adjust the target depth with a countdown after casting, then trace the desired water layer with a steady retrieve that produces a pronounced body roll. It sinks quickly for searching near the bottom, yet can also be retrieved through shallow water at slow speeds despite its weight. The swimming depth can be adjusted by changing the rod angle and reeling speed. When using it for the first time, checking the retrieve speed, depth, and action size during the day makes it easier to understand how the lure responds. The standard hooks are #6, and they can be replaced with double hooks when you want to reduce snagging.
