RAID JAPAN’s PELLER is a soft bait designed with a unique body structure covered in thin frills, making it easier to feel the worm’s presence and movement even when using finesse rigs. The sides of the head feature front arms and an appearance reminiscent of fern leaves, while the body is lined with ribs. As the countless frills and arms covering the entire body catch water, they generate a level of water grip that is difficult to imagine from their delicate appearance.

Once in the water during a retrieve or fall, the front arms catch the current and create a rolling action from side to side, while each individual frill catches water and causes the entire body to twist in a complex manner. Its signature action is a floating, writhing motion that goes beyond simply swimming in a straight line. Even with finesse rigs such as hover strolling, where feedback can easily become faint, the design makes it easier to sense the lure’s movement as each part of the body grips the water. Since the flow of water caught by the frills changes depending on the rig and presentation, it can be used in a variety of ways—from allowing it to drift steadily at a set depth to drawing out movement from the body with rod work or a retrieve.
