RAID JAPAN’s BATTLE HOG is a hog-style soft bait that combines a compact body with multiple moving appendages to create three-dimensional water displacement and vibration from the fall through the retrieve. Its thick, vertically flattened power arms feature an asymmetrical design, generating vibration as the bait falls and striking the water like a hammer during the retrieve. In addition, the complex arm action combines a side-to-side rolling motion with an opening-and-closing movement, while the Twin Curl appendages produce varying vibrations during the fall and retrieve as the difference in thickness changes the intensity of their action. The legs on the sides of the body help prevent the bait from tipping onto its side, while the long legs create a relaxed, flowing action and the short legs produce fine pulses. Primarily designed for Texas rigs and as a trailer on skirted jigs, it is suited to probing cover and working along the bottom. The 2.6-inch model is the smallest size in the series. Designed for finesse rigs, its feelers have been refined into pintails to achieve subtle tail action during shaking and an enticing, self-generated quiver while the bait is stationary. Its horizontally flattened body and low-resistance appendage configuration make it easy to transition from a natural falling posture into a sliding fall. It is also well suited as a trailer for small rubber jigs, as well as for heavy drop-shot and Carolina rigs.
